NBN Update

NBN update for fixed and wireless networks

Cleve is one step closer to connecting to the nbn network

The nbn™ network is Australia’s new landline phone and internet network. It’s designed to provide you with access to fast and reliable phone and internet services, no matter where you live.1

Homes and businesses in Cleveare one step closer to enjoying the nbn™ network, asplanning is underway to connect more than 500 premises to the nbn™fixed line network. Construction is due to commence in parts of Cleve in late August and it usually takes around six months from the start of construction to a premise being ready for service.

The nbn™ network is so much more than fast internet. It’s a state of the art communications network, which opens up a world of possibilities across areas such as education, business and entertainment, and gives you the opportunity to be more productive, more creative, more efficient and more connected for decades to come.

To find out more and to register for updates on the nbn™ rollout, visit www.nbn.com.au or call 1800 687 626.

If your home or business is in Arno Bay or on the outskirts of town in Cleve you may now be able to connect to the nbn™ network via fixed wireless technology.  You can check whether you can connect to the nbn™ network at www.nbn.com.au/check.

The nbn™ Fixed wireless technology uses advanced technology, commonly referred to as LTE or 4G, and provides wholesale speeds of up to 50Mbps download and up to 20Mbps upload.2 It’s engineered to deliver services to a fixed number of premises within each coverage area. This means that the bandwidth per household is designed to be more consistent than mobile wireless, even in peak times.

Currently, the two live Fixed wireless facilities in District Council of Cleve can provide more than 300 homes and businesses with access to the nbn™ network.

All other homes and businesses in the District Council of Cleve can connect to the nbn™network now via the Sky Muster™ satellite service. This involves a satellite dish being installed on your premises to receive the network signal from the Sky Muster™ satellite.

Designed to deliver a revolution in satellite broadband, the Sky Muster™ service is intended to be a game changer for the way you work, learn and live in regional and remote Australia. Eligible homes and businesses in the District Council of Cleve can order a service today through one of ten satellite internet service providers.

  1. Your experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ network, depends on the technology over which services are delivered to your premises and some factors outside our control (like your equipment quality, software, broadband plans and how your service provider designs its network).
  2. We’re designing the nbn™ network to provide these speeds to our wholesale customers, telephone and internet service providers.  End user experience, including the speeds actually achieved over the nbn™ network, depends on the technology over which services are delivered to your premises and some factors outside our control like your equipment quality, software, broadband plans, signal reception and how the end user’s service provider designs its network.
