The 2011/12 Budget has been developed within the Council's overall planning framework. The Council's suite of strategic management plans includes a 10-year Long-term Financial Plan supported by an Infrastructure and Asset Management Plan, both currently under development. The purpose of these plans is to express, in financial terms, the activities that the Council proposes to undertake over the medium to longer-term to achieve its stated goals and objectives.
To guide the preparation of its Budget, the Council prepared and undertook community consultation on a draft annual business plan. The draft annual business plan for 2011/12 includes the Council's planned objectives, activities and performance measures for the financial year as well as its proposed rating structure and policies.
The annual business plan as adopted provides a linkage between the Council's suite of strategic management plans and its annual Budget.
