Mission
Council’s mission or purpose is to:
- Facilitate the development of the suite of strategic management plans (in association with all stakeholders);
- Implement the plans;
- Be accountable for the achievement of the plans;
- Exercise strong leadership to the community;
- Demonstrate open and responsible governance;
- Advocate on behalf of the community;
- Foster community development;
- Provide efficient and effective services which meet the needs of the community;
- Ensure the organisation is sufficiently resourced;
- Strive for financial sustainability;
- Develop and maintain the full range of community assets; and
- Manage the Council’s affairs strictly in accordance with the Local Government Act 1999.
