Wangaraleednie Monument & Grave Site

Facility type: Monument

Wangaraleednie is an Aboriginal name meaning 'place of the west wind'. The monument and historial machinery can be found alongside Wangaraleednie Road. To view the historial grave site, access is via a private driveway at the near-by property.

Settled in 1853 by the McKechnie brothers, the sheep run was operated by the McKechnie's until 1869. Some headstones and the grave site still remain today.
